Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to hold a security review meeting with the chiefs of the three armed forces, India Today has reported.
According to the daily, Sitharaman is likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow to take stock of the preparedness of the armed forces.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, which has the Finance Minister, Home Minister, External Affairs Minister and Defence Minister as its member.
This will be followed by a meeting of the union cabinet at his residence.
These developments come a day after the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down a MiG-21 Bison of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and captured the pilot.
The IAF brought down a PAF F-16 over Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir after thwarting its attempt to bomb Indian military installations.
The chiefs of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force had met Prime Minister Modi Yesterday to brief him on the situation along the border. This was their second meeting with the Prime Minister within 24 hours.
