In yet another incident that shows how national capital New Delhi is forever on a short fuse, 22-year-old Aashish was stabbed 50 times on Holi day. The only crime of Ashish was that he saved a little child from being mercilessly thrashed by a group of men, media reports said.
The men were beating the boy who was throwing a water balloon at them.
As per a report in the Hindi daily Navbharat Times, Ashish is a resident of South Delhi's Khanpur area and the boy who threw the water balloon is his neighbour. When he came to the rescue of the child, the other group allegedly told Ashish that he would have to bear the consequences.
Later, he went to the gym. When he was returning from the gym, the men, who were on bikes, caught hold of him. They went on to stab him 50 times.
Ashish has been reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Saket.
The men have not been identified yet but the footage of the stabbing has been captured on CCTV.
As per a report on Indian Express, the footage shows Ashish being stopped by two men. Within minutes, ten more bikes arrive and Ashish is surrounded by the group.
The family has lodged a complaint in the nearest police station.
