Fresh tensions erupted in Madhya Pradesh (MP) Congress as senior minister from the Kamal Nath government in the state, Umang Shingar complained against Digvijay Singh in a letter addressed to interim party president Sonia Gandhi, reports India Today.
Shingar, who is the Minister for Forests has complained of attempts by Singh to destabilise the government run by Chief Minister (CM) Kamal Nath. In his letter, Shingar has also alleged that Singh is trying to establish himself as an alternative power centre.
This comes after Singh had on 30 August written a letter to all the ministers of the MP government to seek clarity on the action taken by them on the recommendations of transfers and postings made by him. Singh had gone as far as to release his letter on social media post which BJP attacked the state government and alleged that Singh was running the government from behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at the state government, three-time former CM of the state, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state was gripped in an unprecedented constitutional crisis. He further quipped that Congress should clarify who is the actual CM of Madhya Pradesh.
