Amid the upcoming local bodies elections in Uttarakhand, the state’s Election Commission has approved the bonus for the employees of the state government, Jagran has reported.
In the past, the state employees used to get a bonus around Diwali but this year due to the upcoming election in the local bodies and code of conduct, the employees were unsure whether they would get their bonus on Diwali or not.
Earlier, the administration, based on the proposal sent by the employees’ organisations, had sent a letter to the Chief Minister’s office. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had approved the proposal but due to the code of conduct in the state, the proposal had to be sent to the state’s Election Commission for its approval.
Various organisations of the state employees, as well as the secretariat association of the state, were demanding Diwali bonus from the government. Consequently, the Department of Finance sent the bonus proposal to the CM.
After getting the approval from CM Rawat, the proposal was sent to the state’s election commission for their approval. The commission has approved the proposal.
