The Delhi Police, Home Ministry and the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for alleging that the BJP would get him murdered by his own Personal Security Officer (PSO), reports Press Trust of India.
Kejriwal had told a news channel in Punjab that, "The BJP is after my life, they will murder me one day." He further asserted that, "The BJP would get me murdered by my own PSO (Personal Security Officer) one day like Indira Gandhi. My own security officers report to BJP."
The Delhi police in response has asserted that the security forces guarding Kejriwal are dedicated professionals who are committed to their job.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter to slam Kejriwal for crossing all limits of political insanity.
Arvind Kejriwal ji has crossed all the limits of political insanity and human impulsivity. How can a Chief Minister make such reprehensible statement? We are political rivals not enemies! Security of the nation and it's citizens is the responsibility of the Govt. pic.twitter.com/QJ3QipX1IX

Riposting to the CM's allegations, the Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta lambasted at him and condemned his remarks. Gupta underscored that, “On 4 May, before he was slapped, Kejriwal had told his Liasoning Officer to remove security from his vehicle. His instruction is entered in Roznamcha, which I had exposed earlier. After failing to get political advantage of this incident in the elections, Kejriwal is now saying that his PSO reports to the BJP.”
