An Indian Army soldier was abducted by suspected terrorists late on Sunday (2 August) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said.
Police sources said that a personnel of Indian Territorial Army, identified as Shakir Manzoor, was abducted from his home in Rambhama village of Kulgam. Manzoor originally hailed from Shopian district, according to reports.
Reports said the terrorists also torched Manzoor’s private vehicle.
While security forces have started searches to trace the soldier, no terror group has so far owned responsibility for this abduction.
“Police and security forces are on job (to find out the abducted soldier),” said a senior police official quoted in this report by Kashmir Observer.
