Jail Becomes New Home For Nirav Modi As UK Court Rejects Bail Application For Third Time

A United Kingdom (UK) court on Friday (26 April) rejected the bail plea of fraud accused diamond merchant Nirav Modi, India Today has reported.
The next date of hearing has been scheduled at 24 May with a full heating happening six days later on 30 May. This means that Nirav Modi would remain in jail at least till 24 May.
Nirav Modi is currently in the custody of British officials over his alleged involvement in the Rs 14,000 crore PNB scam.
He the prime accused in the scam, and his arrest was made days after a London court had issued an arrest warrant against him, reverting to an appeal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his deportation in the money laundering case.
