TVS Motors has rolled out the 50,000th motorcycle unit of the 310cc BMW motorcycle, in partnership with the BMW Motorrad, from its plant in Hosur, Karnataka.
TVS Motor company and BMW Motorrad, in April 2013, had signed a long-term strategic partnership to manufacture sub-500 cc motorcycles for the international market. The outcome of the alliance was the launch of BMW 310 GS, BMW G 310 R, and TVS Apache RR 310 by the motorcycle company.
"Six years ago, we took a crucial step with the decision to enter into the sub-500cc category in partnership with TVS Motor Company. We are delighted that we are rolling out the 50,000 unit of our 310 series motorcycles in less than two years. This reaffirms our decision to offer BMW Motorrad quality-led premium products for the sub 500cc segment,” said the head of the BMW Motorrad Markus Schramm as reported by Business Standard.
Director and chief executive officer (CEO), TVS Motor Company, KN Radhakrishnan said over the course of six years, they created a common learning platform for both the companies, which resulted in the creation of products for the market worldwide.
Export of two BMW Motorrad models begin in December 2016 and at present, they are being exported to over 90 countries by the company.
