Delhi High Court has refused to grant stay in the Robert Vadra case and asked him to appear before Enforcement Directorate (ED) today (26 February) for questioning, reports Times Of India (TOI).
Vadra is married to Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and brother-in-law of Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar has directed ED to provide the court within five days hard copies of the documents which were seized during raids conducted at Vadra’s offices on 7 December 2018.
This was in response to Vadra's application which sought copies of the seized documents and requested a stay on the questioning until he perused the records.
However, the court allowed the ED to continue its investigation while it takes up Vadra’s plea on 2 March.
I’m Innocent
“If there was any issue or any illegality, which was found by the government, why did it take them four years and eight months to call me a month before campaigning begins for the general elections,” Vadra had earlier stated.
“I always have adhered to rules and overall being a disciplined person, I have the ability to sustain any amount of hours of questioning and having nothing to hide, I will answer every question with respect n dignity. This too shall pass and will make me stronger,” he added.
