Pickpocket gangs descended upon Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s road show and made away with people’s money and wallets, Hindi News18 has reported.
As per the report, more than a dozen mobile phones including that of Congress Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh were stolen by the pickpocket gangs. Apart from stealing money, the thieves are also said to have made away with mobiles of journalists.
Incidentally, a similar incident had occurred during Priyanka Gandhi’s road show in Lucknow when many participants fell victim to pickpocketers who made the best of the opportunity and stole as many as 50 phones.
Priyanka was joined by her brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who called for the removal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power in the state.
Congress workers took hold of one man who was suspected of being involved in the thefts, but police had to let him go since no phones were recovered from him.
