Rivaba Jadeja, the wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadega joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (3 March), The Indian Express has reported.
Her induction was formalised in a ceremony at BJP’s Jamnagar office in Gujarat. The program was attended by Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare and Cooperation Minister Rancho Faldu and Jamanar MP Poonam Maadam. Jamnagar is also the hometown of Ravindra Jadeja.
When asked about her motive to join the BJP she said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an inspiration to her and the reason why she is joining the party. She also said that she would be able to serve her country and the community better by joining the BJP.
Rivaba Jadeja was also appointed the chief of Rajput organisation Karni Sena a few months ago.
It was then reported that she had announced her commitment to social service. Speaking at a conference, she had said, “My first goal would be to empower women to the level that they can fend for themselves, take care of themselves and defend themselves when men are not around and fight off any threats from perverted minds. This is my prime goal as I have personally been through such an experience”, alluding to the incident where she was allegedly slapped by a police constable after her car hit his bike in Jamnagar in May this year.
Reevaba is a mechanical engineer by training. She and Ravindra Jadeja tied the knot in 2016 and have a daughter.
