Scoring another self-goal during his speech in Hyderabad, Congress President Rahul Gandhi slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for indulging in “dynasty politics”, India Today has reported.
Rahul Gandhi is the son, grandson and great-grandson of three former prime ministers: Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.
"There is family rule in Telangana. Only one family is ruling and is benefited. Neither the Prime Minister nor the Telangana CM have kept their promises for the people," he said while speaking to Self-Help Groups in Telangana.
Further, the Congress leader accused KCR of running the government for the benefit of his family and not the common man. Earlier, in his speech, he promised to provide pensions for women in self help groups if voted to power. Gandhi said that making banks and financial institutions accessible to women was important for creating jobs.
Rahul Gandhi is in Telangana on a two-day tour. The state will be going for polls next year. His visit is being seen as a part of his party’s preparation for the 2019 assembly polls. The Congress party president’s plan for interaction with Osmania University students was rejected. A bike rally and roadshow by Rahul Gandhi was also not allowed due to security reasons.
