Chaturvedi a well known Congress spokesperson had quit the party last year over its failure to punish the party leaders accused of misbehaving with her during a press conference in Mathura.
In her resignation letter, Chaturvedi thanked the Congress for giving her various roles within the organisation and at the same time reminding it of the alleged abuse, slander and threats she has faced over the course of the political career.
She claimed that in the past few weeks she has come to realise that her services were not valued at the party especially in the light of her appeal for action against party leaders for misbehaving with her, which went unanswered.
The BJP on the other hand has nominated former Maharashtra MLA Udayanraje Bhosale for the Rajya Sabha and will support the candidature of Republican Party of India chief Ramdas Athawle.
