On Thursday (1 December), several buildings in the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus in New Delhi were found covered with hate slogans against people from Brahmin and Baniya castes.
The pictures of the walls went viral on the social media, triggering tension and concern.
Among others, such slogans were found on the walls in the School of International Studies-II building.
Some of the slogans say – “Brahmins leave the campus”, “There will be blood”, “Brahmin Bharat Chhodo” and “Brahmino-Baniyas, we are coming for you... We will avenge”.
President of RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Rohit Kumar, told the media that they suspected it to be a handiwork of “communist goons”.
A Twitter account called JNU Teachers’ Forum accused the “Left-Liberal gang” for the act.
While the Left-Liberal gang intimidate every dissenting voice, they appeal to elect EC representatives that "can assert the values of mutual respect and civility, & equal & just treatment of all."
