Information Technology (IT) company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) would offer campus placements to about 40,000 fresh graduates in India this year.
TCS will also rope in around 2,000 new graduates from the United States (US) and Latin America to boost its workforce and meet the increasing demand for its services on an international scale.
Moreover, TCS has also warded off apprehensions of startups and other rivals regarding the increasing wages of tech employees in India and said there is no shortage of good talent.
The firm's COO N G Subramanian told The Economic Times, "There is no dearth of supply, as far as India is concerned. There's nowhere else in the world that you will get such phenomenal talent and the scale that it will get in India."
He added that India's tech talent salaries remain highly competitive, which has led to the international companies pursuing the Indian workforce in this aspect.
Meanwhile, TCS became the first Indian IT company to surpass the figure of a 5,00,000-employee strong workforce as it reported a total headcount of 5,09,058 after the first quarter of FY22.
