The arrest was made by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Khan is believed to have been a close associate of Pulwama terror attack mastermind Mudassir who was gunned down by security forces earlier this month.
In the encounter with security forces which eliminated Mudassir, two other terrorists were gunned down.
23-year-old Mudassir, who security officials had only recently zeroed in on as the Pulwama attack mastermind, held a graduate degree and had a diploma as an electrician. He is believed to have arranged for the vehicle and explosives used in the Pulwama suicide bombing.
Hailing from Mir Mohalla of Tral in Pulwama district, Mudassir joined the JeM in 2017, first as an overground worker, then proceeding to become an active terrorist of the banned outfit. Noor Mohammed Tantrey, alias 'Noor Trali’, the man who is seen responsible for leading the revival of JeM in the valley, is believed to have recruited Mudassir.
