Actor Naseeruddin Shah has courted controversy after calling his noted colleague Anupam Kher a clown and a sycophant for supporting the policies of the Narendra Modi led central government.
In an interview given to an online web portal, Shah aggressively went after Kher by saying, “someone like Anupam Kher has been very vocal. I don’t think he needs to be taken seriously. He’s a clown. Any number of his contemporaries from NSD and FTII can attest to his sycophantic nature. It’s in his blood, he can’t help it”.
Naseeruddin Shah has Completely LOST IT. Calling his very successful Colleague Anupam Kher- a well known versatile actor both in bollywood & internationally -a Clown & sycophant- only shows how frustrated Shah himself is. #NaseeruddinShah #AnupamKher pic.twitter.com/RtTKgQmohD

In the same interview Shah also trained his guns on Prime Minister Modi and praised actor Deepika Padukone for her decision to stand in solidarity with JNU leftists.
It may be recalled that a couple of years ago Shah had been criticised for fear-mongering when he alleged that he fears for his children’s safety over the rising “communal temperament” in India.
