Dramatic scenes were witnessed in the Karnataka State Assembly on Thursday (11 July) as rebel Congress-JD(S) MLAs arrived in Bengaluru to tender their revised resignation letters to the speaker, in accordance with the Supreme Court order.
As reported by News9, a rebel Congress MLA Byrathi Basavaraj was found breaking into a run soon after getting down from the bus right outside the Vidhan Soudha. He was seen sprinting till he reached the assembly speaker K R Ramesh Kumar’s chamber.

Other nine rebel MLAs whose resignations were rejected by the speaker for purportedly not being in the prescribed format also reached the chambers around the same time.
The MLAs have since then submitted their resignations to the speaker and the latter is expected to address the media over this issue. The rebels were assured of adequate security by the Supreme Court which had ordered the DIG to ensure proper arrangements.
