WhatsApp is introducing a new search feature that will allow users to search for groceries, clothing stores, hotels, eateries, etc. nearby within the application itself.
This theme has been released for certain users in Sao Paulo and gradually it will be made available for more number of people. This feature will also be there for both Android and iOS users, Mint reports.
“When you search for something within WhatsApp, there will be a new section called 'Businesses Nearby': when you select the category, the results of business accounts will be filtered based on your choice,” WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo was quoted in an article by the aforementioned publication.
People already using the Business Directory can get access to this feature through a coming update.
However, no clarification has yet been issued over whether people residing outside of Sao Paulo can make use of these features from the Business Directory.
The Meta-owned company has already redesigned the page for Business Info following the release of WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.170.12 update. Now, the very same redesigned page will be put in place for the Contact Info as a search shortcut will now be inserted into it.
