'The Kerala Story' Box Office Collection Crosses Rs 200 Crore Mark, Second Highest Bollywood Grosser In 2023

'The Kerala Story' is continuing its phenomenal run on the box office, with the Adah Sharma starrer movie set to cross Rs 200 crore in collection today (22 May).
The movie, which was released on 5 May, had collected over Rs 198.97 crore till Sunday (21 May), according to noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The film is likely to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in the morning shows on Monday (22 May), reports Firstpost.
The movie, directed by Sudipto Sen, narrates the ordeal of three women who are trafficked to ISIS camps after being converted to Islam through marriage.
The Kerala Story is currently the second-highest Bollywood grosser of the year after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
Even before its release, the film kicked up a political storm across the country.
The film's release was challenged in the Kerala HC but the court refused to stay the release, saying the trailer does not contain anything offensive to any particular community as a whole.
The movie was banned in West Bengal but the Supreme Court lifted the ban.
