The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued anticipatory bail to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the Angallu violence case.
This significant decision was reached on Friday (13 October), offering legal protection to Naidu in relation to the case, as reported by Deccan Herald.
The High Court, after conducting hearings and arguments in the Angallu violence case, reserved its orders on Thursday (12 October).
Subsequently, the court has delivered its verdict after meticulous consideration of the arguments presented.
Naidu had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Angallu case following the rejection of his regular bail plea. This legal move was made to secure protection against possible arrest or detention associated with the case.
The Angallu case revolves around the disturbances that transpired during a political rally led by Naidu in August. It encompasses allegations of violence and disruptions during the rally, with Naidu's involvement subject to scrutiny.
Numerous individuals, including police officers and supporters of both the TDP and the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, sustained injuries during incidents of stone pelting, arson, and rioting in Angallu, situated in Annamayya district, and in Punganuru, located in Chittoor district.
At present, Naidu remains in judicial remand at the Rajamahendravaram central prison. He faces allegations of financial misappropriation from the Skill Development Corporation, which is believed to have caused a loss exceeding Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
