The day of the unveiling has also coincided with the new year in many regions of India as also with the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar. Seen at the stage of the BJP's event were a bust of Dr Ambedkar along with a cut-out of the cover of the Constitution of India.
The Prime Minister along with others paid their respects to them before releasing the manifesto.
The manifesto has been prepared by a committee headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. In his speech, the Defence Minister specifically thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for his contribution to the drafting of the manifesto.
The Sankalp Parta claims to reflect the BJP's resolve to work towards the four pillars of a developed India — youth power, women empowerment, the poor, and farmers.
