The incident took place in 2019 during a programme near Town Hall where Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya and MLA Suli Bele spoke in favour of the CAA.
Bharatiya Janata Party cadre Varun, who was participating in the programme, was attacked and injured.
Six suspects were arrested following the incident, which the Kalasipalya Police Station documented.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials had collected enough evidence against him, and he was arrested by the Kalasipalya police.
