Two Indira canteens will be opened at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has said.
Shivakumar said that the Karnataka government's Indira Canteen scheme has earned praise for alleviating the hunger of the poor.
He added that two Indira Canteens will commence operations soon at the Kempegowda International Airport.

This will fulfil a demand that has been pending for many years, he added.
The Indira Canteens serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at subsidised prices.
The setting up of Indira Canteen at the airport has been a long-standing demand of the cab drivers’ association.
The demand came in view of drivers experiencing a stressful work life commuting between the airport and the city, and also suffering due to the exorbitant food rates at restaurants at the airport terminal.
The BBMP had reportedly identified two locations at parking lots near both terminals at the airport.
One of the canteen with a kitchen is being set up at a cost of Rs 87 lakh at the parking lot at Terminal-1 and another at a cost of Rs 48 lakh near Terminal-2.
The canteens will serve breakfast to the public for Rs 5 while lunch and dinner will be served at Rs 10 each.
