Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national president Lalu Prasad Yadav expressed his openness to form an alliance with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar again and also his support for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister.
This comes after Nitish Kumar went back to the NDA fold last month, breaking away from the Congress-led INDI Alliance and also Janata Dal United's (JDU) Bihar ally RJD.
When asked will he give another chance to Kumar if he came back, Yadav said, "We will see when he comes." On the question of whether doors are still open for the Bihar chief minister he said, "The door remains open, what's there in a door."
Interestingly, Bihar Vidhan Sabha yesterday witnessed the exchange of friendly greetings between the two leaders.
Yadav also asserted that INDI Alliance will win and responded to the question if Rahul Gandhi can become the Prime Minister saying, "He doesn't lack any qualities (for becoming PM)."
This comes when Lalu Yadav's son and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav joined Gandhi in his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra as it passed through Sasaram in Bihar today (16 February).
