In an incident that unfolded within the borders of Pakistan's Balochistan province, a suicide blast has claimed the lives of at least 52 individuals and left over 50 injured near the Madina Mosque in the Mastung district.
This event occurred during a gathering held to commemorate Eid Miladun Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.
One of the victims of this attack was Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori, who had been in attendance at the rally.
The injured victims have been promptly transported to medical facilities, and the situation remains critical for several of them. Health officials are closely monitoring these cases, with concerns that the death toll may rise.
Jan Achakzai, the temporary Information Minister of Balochistan, has verified the deployment of rescue teams to Mastung. Additionally, a state of emergency has been declared in all hospitals throughout the region.
Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki has passionately urged for the swift capture of the perpetrators behind this atrocious act.
Furthermore, Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti condemned the attack, expressing the government's resolute stance against such violence.
Despite the absence of a specific claim of responsibility for this incident, it serves as a glaring reminder of Pakistan's persistent struggle in combating terrorism and extremism within its borders.
