In a significant stride towards modernisation, the Indian Army celebrated its 76th Army Day, led by Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande.
As reported by Economic Times, Extending warm wishes and paying homage to fallen heroes, General Pande announced 2024 as the 'Year of Technology Absorption' in a bid to revolutionise the armed forces.
The Army Day parade, in a notable departure from tradition, took place in Lucknow, aligning with the government's decentralisation efforts.
General Pande emphasised the pivotal role of the Indian Army in ensuring national stability and urged its members, often referred to as the 'Olive Green' fraternity, to remain resolute in countering security threats.
"On the occasion of Army Day 2024, I convey my felicitations and warm wishes to all ranks of the Indian Army, civilian employees, veterans and their families. We solemnly remember and pay homage to our comrades who have laid down their lives in service of the nation. Their supreme sacrifice shall always inspire us," he said.
