BJP's IT Cell head Amit Malviya shared a thread on X that "draws a link between George Soros funded ‘Access Now’ and Apple notifications, supposedly received only by Opposition leaders."
This comes a day after opposition leaders like Mahua Moitra, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Pawan Khera, Shashi Tharoor, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and the AAP's Raghav Chadha claimed to receive notification of "state-sponsored attacks" on their iPhones.
The screenshot shared by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor shows that 'Access Now' is Apple's "Digital Security Helpline" and the said thread claims that it is funded by George Soros.
The thread also cites media reports claiming that Access Now has been targeting India for internet shutdowns and highlights that Seema Chishti, wife of Sitaram Yechuri of CPI(M) is Board Member India for Access Now.
Amit Malviya also shared another thread that "details out the network George Soros funded ‘Access Now’ has built in India." It points out "a clear pattern of Soros backing along with some major contributions from Google, Facebook, Mozilla, and Swedish, German, and UK governments" in Access Now.
