There will be a high-level investigation into irregularities in unaccredited madrassas and scholarships for minority students in Uttar Pradesh, Amar Ujala reported. In this regard, the state government has taken a firm stance and issued necessary directives to the concerned authorities.
Reportedly, a significant number of unaccredited madrassas are operating in the state without valid approval. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is also investigating foreign funding received by these madrasas.
Recently, 14,000 students who applied for Central Minority Scholarships and fee reimbursement were found to have submitted fake applications.
The Minister for Minority Welfare in UP, Dharampal Singh, stated that the government is taking these matters seriously and a high-level investigation has been ordered.
Expressing his commitment to transparency for all scholarship schemes, whether it is of centre or state, he said that stringent actions have been directed against those found guilty in every district.
