Temple Protection Activists Vs Tamil Nadu Government
Dear Reader,
Temple rights activist TR Ramesh has recently said that the Tamil Nadu government's HR&CE department plans on using Rs 39 crores of temple money to build colleges and a cultural centre.
He says Mylapore Kapaleeswarar temple, the one that will be forced to fork out the Rs 39 crores, has only about Rs 75 crores in corpus funds.
But is it even legal. to build such colleges, and if so were the government actions in line with laid down procedure?
The colleges are to be built in Chief Minister MK Stalin's constituency and not in Mylapore where the temple already has lands.
We spoke to TR Ramesh in detail about the issue and have a comprehensive interview for you. Do read it at this link and let us know what you think.
