Smriti Irani recently speech in the Rajya Sabha has caused quite a flutter in the news-media. We bring you an excerpt in which she dwells on the how the Congress-Left combine incorporated their ideological agendas and views into school text books. Some examples include
- “When we teach Shivaji, Akbar, Aurangzeb, As responsible educators and animators we need to ask which Shivaji do we take in the classroom?”
- “Congress politicians allowed the killing for three days in Sikh riots”
- “Hindu-Christians riots in Kanyakumari: How the propaganda of Hindu organizations targets Christian minorities”
- “Kashmir is a much demonised land today...that the state militates against the atrocities of the Indian state.”
The above, according to the HRD minister, are from text books meant for fourth to sixth grade students. She is seen asking as how come the house was surprised with the radicalisation of young minds when the Congress-Left combine plant such material in school text books.
