In another targeted attack, the terrorists on Tuesday (4 May) morning shot dead a Hindu female teacher in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The J&K police in a tweet said that the terrorists fired upon the woman teacher, identified as Rajni Bala, wife of Raj Kumar, at highschool in Gopalpora area of Kulgam.
The teacher, a Hindu and resident of Samba (Jammu division), was critically injured in the attack and was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
After the attack, security officials and a contingent of police, CRPF, and Indian Army personnel rushed to the area to take stock of the situation, reports The New Indian Express.
The security forces have laid siege around the area and launched a cordon and search operation to track down the terrorists responsible for the attack.
The J&K police said that the terrorists involved in the gruesome terror attack will be soon identified and neutralised.
It is the second targeted attack on the minority Hindu community in Kashmir this month, TNIE reported.
