Centre Right India (CRI) was established in 2010 with the aim of increasing political awareness and nurturing an intellectually-vibrant, centre-right tradition in India. At CRI, we share a vision of building this platform into a premier media establishment that spans a multitude of platforms for thought-leadership, commentary, and journalism with a centre-right political discourse.
We are now seeking interns to assist in online editorial duties. The selected interns will work in tandem with our editorial team on various projects producing intellectual input for the website, as well as assist in an administrative capacity.
The ideal candidate would have, but not be limited to, the following:
A student with a background in journalism, law, or the humanities with a deep interest in the socio-political process
Has a thorough understanding of social media and is creative in its applications
Is familiar with web authoring and publishing tools
Is familiar with audio/video podcast production
Reads at least two newspapers daily, and be a bibliophile
Has an ability to multi-task while working independently or as a team member
Has a good academic track record
Responsibilities
Write a column or book review every month on topical issues
Co-ordinate with the CRI commentariat and community to ensure periodic publication of content
Serve as a copy editor (language as well as HTML) for submitted articles
Proactively identify issues that deserve attention from the CRI commentariat
Maintain the website and forum (social media profiles)
Perform any administrative duties
Serve as research support for the CRI commentariat
Put together innovative media practices to increase CRI’s profile

Minimum stipend of INR 25,000 per annum.
Number of positions: 2
Period of internship: 12 months
Hours: Approximately 7 hours per week
Location: Anywhere as long as you have reliable access to the internet.

Your application package should consist of a cover letter specifying your area of interest or expertise, your resume (no longer than 1.5 pages), two writing samples of approximately 1,000 words each, and a letter or recommendation. For the writing sample, you may choose to submit a book review that you think is pertinent to CRI’s readership, or an article you might submit to a newspaper on an issue relevant to CRI’s stated mission. If you have any web publishing experience, be sure to include your portfolio.
