Railways will launch Vande Bharat trains on five more routes from June 26.
The routes on which the five trains will run are - Mumbai-Goa, Bengaluru-Hubli, Patna-Ranchi, Bhopal-Indore, and Bhopal-Jabalpur.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to launch the semi-high-speed trains via video conferencing.
The railway ministry had canceled the launch of the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat train after the Odisha train accident.
South Western Railway (SWR) and the Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE) recently completed the pending electrification works on the route between Hubballi and Bengaluru paving away for the launch of Vande Bharat train connecting the two cities in Karnataka.
With the launch of new routes, Railways will be operationalising Vande Bharat Express trains on 23 routes across the country.
Vande Bharat Express is an indigenously manufactured, semi-high-speed, self-propelled train set. The train has state-of-the-art passenger amenities, providing passengers with a faster, more comfortable, and more convenient travel experience. It was first known as Train 18 and was manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory(ICF) in Chennai.
