Uttarakhand Chief Minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat yesterday (3 December) shared that the State shall complete 98 per cent of the work related to the forthcoming Kumbh Mela by end of December, reports Economic Times.
Kumbh Mela, which is set to be held in the holy ancient city of Haridwar in 2021, is an iconic religious congregation which is likely to draw a massive amount of crowd, devotees and pilgrims. The congregation will begin in January, and then go on till April.
With 98 per cent of the work set to be completed by end of December, CM Rawat announced the deadline of January-end for all the preparations o the event. Preparations having been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic induced disruptions, CM Rawat suggested the authorities could pool in additional labourers and increase the number of work shifts in a bid to make up for the time lost.
On a visit to Haridwar to review the preparations, CM Rawat also reviewed the construction of bridges, apart from taking stock of the ongoing construction of a national highway being built in between Ranipur and the site of the congregation.
CM Rawat exuded that the ongoing constructions will enhance the facilities for the devotees visiting Haridwar permanently.
