Election Marathon Enters Its Final Leg: Voting Begins In Telangana And Rajasthan, 318 Seats At Stake

Voting is underway in the states of Telangana and Rajasthan in the last phase of the five-state assembly election marathon, Indian Express has reported.
In Rajasthan, the BJP and the Congress are locked in a tough fight for 199 seats. The state has not voted the same party to power for more than one term in the last 20 years. Close to 4.77 crore eligible voters will be exercising their franchise in 51,965 polling stations. 187 women candidates are in the election fray.
In Telangana, the Congress-led alliance is facing Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS and Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM. The Telangana assembly has 119 seats. The results will be declared on 11 December along with those of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram. Close to 2.81 crore eligible voters of Telangana will be exercising their franchise in 32,815 polling stations. 136 women candidates are in the election fray.
