A R Rehman’s sister Reihana is the latest celebrity to open up on the sexual harassment allegations made by singer and dubbing artiste Chinmayi against lyricist Vairamuthu. Reihana has come out in full support of Chinmayi, Times of India has reported.
As per Reihana, her brother was pretty unaware of the #MeToo allegations in the industry, and it was she who briefed him about the string of allegations. She also accused Vairamuthu of using Rahaman’s name to trap female playback singers.
Reihana, who has sung quite a songs besides scoring music for a couple of films, claimed that A R Rehman, was unaware about it as he was inclined to stay away from “gossip”.
She concluded her statement by saying that she completely supports Chinmayi and the #MeToo movement.
Vairamuthu has been hit with a barrage of sexual harassment allegations including one from singer-cum-dubbing artiste Chinmayi Sriprada. She alleged that Vairamuthu sexually harassed her during a music programme in Switzerland.
She said that her dubbing career was almost over after she came out with her allegations in the public. She has also demanded that the lyricist take a lie detector test.
