Consumer electronics brand boAt has announced that it will no longer be sponsoring the upcoming India concert of Canada-based Punjabi singer Shubneet Singh, for his controversial and anti-India remarks.
Shubneet Singh, also known as Shubh, is a 26-year-old artist who is set to perform in Mumbai from 23 to 25 September on Cordelia Cruises. He has a tour planned in India, which includes performances in cities like New Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
However, ahead of his scheduled concert in Mumbai, Shubh has been facing criticism and backlash.
He had previously shared a distorted map of India, leading to allegations of support for Khalistani separatists.
boAt declared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that it will no longer sponsor the India tour of the Canadian singer.

Recently, members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) took down posters promoting Shubh's concert.
Tajinder Singh Tiwana, president of the BJYM, expressed that there is no place for Khalistanis who pose a threat to the unity and integrity of India.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
