Ministry Of Defence Signs Deal With Indian Firm To Upgrade Su-30 MKI Fighter Aircraft Simulators: Here's All About It

The Ministry of Defence has finalized a contract with an Indian firm to enhance the simulators of the Indian Air Force's Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft.
"Led by MSME, the upgrade will integrate indigenous weapons and capabilities, bolstering operational training for IAF pilots", said an official statement, reported Economic Times.
The Su-30 MKI fighter jets play a pivotal role in the Indian Air Force, with over 270 aircrafts inducted into service.
The enhanced simulators are poised to further refine pilot training, ensuring readiness and efficiency.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defence inked five significant capital acquisition contracts worth Rs 39,125.39 crore in Delhi.
These contracts were exchanged in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane.

The contracts include procurement deals with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for MiG-29 aircraft aero-engines, Larsen and Toubro Limited for Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) and High-Power Radar (HPR), and BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited for BrahMos missiles and Ship-borne BrahMos system for the Indian Defence Forces.
The contract for RD-33 Aero Engines for MiG-29 aircraft, to be produced by HAL's Koraput Division, come at a cost of Rs 5,249.72 crore.
Also, Larsen and Toubro Limited secured contracts worth Rs 7,668.82 crore for CIWS and Rs 5,700.13 crore for HPR.
The contract for procurement of BrahMos missiles has been signed with BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited (BAPL) at a cost of Rs 19,518.65 crore.
These contracts are anticipated to generate significant employment opportunities, with the project likely to create nine lakh man-days in the Joint Venture entity and around 135 lakh man-days in ancillary industries, including MSMEs, across the country.
