Abbas Ansari, son of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, was given a ticket during the 2022 Assembly elections under pressure from the Samajwadi Party, according to Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar.
Rajbhar's clarification on ticket to Ansari's son in the last year's UP state assembly polls came during a press conference in Mau after a meeting with the party workers.
Rajbhar claimed that Abbas Ansari would have fought on SP ticket if he was given a ticket by the SBSP.
He said that Abbas is currently in jail, and his political future will be determined after his release.
The SBSP leader added that Abbas has been a SP leader.
That's why the SP didn't directly fielded him in the elections and pressured me to give him a ticket, he said.
Rajbhar also revealed that when he informed SP leader Akhilesh Yadav about some of his MLAs planning to join the BJP, he was given instructions not to speak much and was handed a divorce paper from the alliance.
