Sukmawati Sukarnoputri, the daughter of Indonesia's founding father and first president Sukarno, will undergo the ritual of converting from Islam to Hinduism, CNN Indonesia reported.
According to the report, a ritual ceremony will be held at the Sukarno Center Heritage Area in Bale Agung Singaraja, Buleleng Regency, Bali, on Oct 26
Sukmawati Sukarnoputri is the third daughter of Sukarno and the younger sister of former president Megawati Sukarnoputri, who leads President Joko Widodo’s ruling party.

A poem composed and recited by Sukmawati Sukarnoputri at Indonesia's Fashion Week, which praised Indonesian hair bun has prettier than the full-faced veil worn by strict Muslims, faced the wrath of Islamic groups. They also alleged that her prayer had denigrated the azaan, a form of Islamic prayer.
Sukmawati Sukarnoputri was forced to deliver an apology.
"From the bottom of my heart I extend an apology to all Muslims of Indonesia, especially those who feel offended by the poem,” Sukmawati said with tears in her eyes during a press conference.
“The poem is a reflection of my concern about the sense of nationalism...and to honour our motherland’s rich cultural traditions and diversity,” she noted during the conference.
Hardline Islamic groups like Indonesian Ulema Defence Team (TPUI) and the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (GMII) refused her apology and insisted that she should be tried for blasphemy charges.
Sukmawati, who was was married to Prince Sujiwa Kusuma (Mangkunegara IX) of the Mangkenegara royal family of Java, had an unsuccessful political career. Her attempts to revive Indonesian National Party (PNI) came a cropper as it just won 0.36% of the vote. Indonesia’s 1999 general electioN
