NTPC Commissions First Part Of 300 MW Nokhra Solar PV Project In Rajasthan's Bikaner

India's largest power generator NTPC has commissioned the first part capacity of 100 megawatt (MW) out of 300 MW Nokhra solar power plant in Rajasthan.

"Consequent upon successful commissioning, first part capacity of 100 MW out of 300 MW Nokhra Solar PV Project at Bikaner, Rajasthan, is declared on Commercial Operation with effect from 00:00 hours of 20.12.2022," the company said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

With this, standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 58209 MW, while group installed and commercial capacity of NTPC will become 70824 MW, it added.


The 150 MW Devikot-I and 90 MW Devikot-II Solar PV projects were developed under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase-II Tranche-I of Central government's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The projects were won by NTPC through Viability Gap Funding (VGF) based competitive bidding done by SECI in 2019 and has been developed through HILD Energy under EPC with land mode wherein land required was arranged by EPC vendor.
