Tata Power Renewable Inks 838 MW Wind Turbine Deal With Suzlon

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed an agreement with Suzlon Group for the supply of wind turbine generators totaling 838 megawatts (MW).

The equipment will be deployed in projects across multiple states over the next few years.

The deal comes as India pushes to meet its 2030 renewable energy target of 500 GW, with companies scaling up both wind and solar projects to diversify the energy mix.

According to a statement by Tata Power, TPREL already manages a wind portfolio of over 3.9 GW, of which more than 1 GW is operational. Projects are underway in states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Tata Power has set a goal of becoming a 100% clean energy company by 2045. Its total renewable energy portfolio currently stands at 15.7 GW, with 6.9 GW sourced from clean energy.
