India-UK Free Trade Pact Negotiations 'Continuing', Says British Deputy High Commissioner

Britain's deputy high commissioner to India, Christina Scott, on Tuesday (11 April) confirmed that negotiations on the India-UK Free Trade Agreement are ongoing and both nations are "determined" to work together.
Scott's remarks follow Indian officials' dismissing as "baseless" a report by London-based newspaper The Times that cited senior British government sources to claim that India had halted negotiations over UK government's failure to condemn the pro-Khalistan supporters' recent attack on the Indian High Commission in London.
The incident occurred on 19 March, when protesters carrying 'Khalistan' banners removed the Indian national flag from the High Commission building in London.
Scott, in an interview with ANI, refrained from commenting on the previous media report since she hadn't seen it.
"But what I can say is that negotiations are continuing on free trade agreement. We are determined that we can continue to work together to find a free trade agreement that supports British and Indian businesses," she was quoted as saying in the ANI report.
