Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla has called upon Elon Musk to invest in India for high-quality local manufacturing of Tesla EVs if the tech billionaire fails to buy Twitter.
"Hey Elon Musk just in case you don't end up buying Twitter, do look at investing some of that capital in INDIA for high-quality large-scale manufacturing of Tesla cars," Poonawalla said in a tweet on Sunday (8 May).
"I assure you this will be the best investment you'll ever make," Poonwalla added.
Serum Institute of India, which is world's largest vaccine-maker by volume, has played a massive role in global immunisation efforts against Covid-19 by supplying billions of doses of Covid-19 vaccines across the globe.
It should be noted that Elon Musk had last month struck a deal with Twitter board to buy 100 per cent stake in the micro-blogging website at a price of $54.20 a share, valuing the platform at nearly $44 billion. The deal is expected to close later this year.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
