Tesla CEO Elon Musk
As a consequence of the extended lockdown in China and supply chain constraints, the deliveries made by car manufacturer Tesla dropped by nearly 18 per cent from the previous quarter (January-March). The manufacturer only delivered 2,54,695 electric vehicles in the second quarter.
In the last two years, this is the first time that the deliveries of Tesla have gone down quarter-over-quarter. In the first quarter the manufacturer delivered around 3,10,000 vehicles.
This situation also highlights the importance of Tesla’s Shanghai Factory to its overall business. Previously also Tesla had to bear the brunt of Covid-19 shutdown in China.
The company has recently stated that it produced only 2,58,580 EVs this quarter, which is a total reduction of 15 per cent from the previous quarter when it made 305,407 vehicles.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
