Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra Board Game by Sutradhar

When it comes to toys and games for kids we rarely see any innovation, specially in kids of 7-12 year age group. It is even more rare to find games that are inspired by Indian culture.

This situation is unfortunate considering that it is India that invented games like chess (Ashtapada), Ludo (Pacchisi) and Snake and Ladders (Mokshapatam), etc., which even today are some of the most popular games in the world.

Breaking the lull in this segment Sutradhar has come up with a board game called Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra. As the name suggests the game is based on the battle of Kurukshetra, which was fought between the armies of cousins Kaurava and Pandava and is the subject of the epic Mahabharata.

Sutradhar team that has created this game wants to use this game to introduce kids to the ancient world of Mahabharata and also hopes to increase the curiosity about our ancestors among the young minds at a very young age.

The game consists of a board, which represents the battlefield of Kurukshetra and some key events from the Kurukshetra war are plotted on the board. The players can play the game as Kaurava or Pandava soldiers with the objective to survive the war and reach the endpoint of Yudhishthira's coronation.

The movement is controlled by the throw of a dice while all the players get some divyastras in the form of cards to help them navigate the dangerous battlefield and avoid pitfalls on the way.

What's even more interesting about Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra game is that players can play the game in multiple different ways, like in soldier mode players do not make use of Divyastra cards, in duel mode two players just play with the cards without using the board and in warrior mode players play on the board using Divyastras.

Additionally, players can up with various other ways to play the game using the assets provided inside the box.

"We believe every kid of the age 7 and above should have this game and parents should make it a point to play this game with their kids.
