Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced the setting up of a welfare board for Brahmins in the state.

This announcement came after a prolonged demand from the Brahmin association in Madhya Pradesh.

During the Parshuram Jayanti event held in Bhopal on Saturday (22 April), Chouhan praised the special contribution of Brahmins in safeguarding religion and culture. The welfare board aims to address the needs of the Brahmin community in the state.

Chouhan was accompanied by Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shashtri of Bageshwar Dham.

Chouhan also announced that a building will be constructed at the Gufa Mandir premises for convenience of devotees.

The Madhya Pradesh CM said that Lord Parshuram was a champion of justice, and added that the state government is taking strict action against goons, miscreants, and Naxalites, inspired by him.

He also announced adding life-sketch of Bhagwan Shri Parshuram in the 8th-grade syllabus in the state, awarding Sanskrit students with scholarships, and providing priests with an honorarium, reports Indian Express.

The CM said 3,547 Sanskrit teachers were appointed in government schools and more appointments will be made if required.
