An Indian Army contingent of 120 personnel departed for Perth, Australia on Saturday (11 October) to participate in the fourth edition of the India–Australia joint military exercise AUSTRAHIND 2025, the Defence Ministry said on Sunday (12 October).

The exercise is scheduled from 13 to 26 October 2025 at Irwin Barracks in Perth.

Led by a Battalion of Gorkha Rifles, the contingent also includes troops from various arms and services of the Indian Army.

The exercise aims to enhance military cooperation, improve interoperability, and provide a platform for both armies to share tactics, techniques, and procedures related to sub-conventional warfare, especially in urban and semi-urban terrains.

The ministry said that the participation in Exercise AUSTRAHIND 2025 will further strengthen defence cooperation and foster camaraderie between Indian and Australian Army troops, thereby reinforcing the spirit of collaboration and mutual trust.
