Indonesia Moves Closer To Inking BrahMos Missile Deal With India: Report

India and Indonesia are on the verge of signing a landmark agreement for the export of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system, ANI has reported.

Negotiations between the two sides have been completed, and only final approval from the Russian partners in the joint venture is awaited before the contract can be signed.

The deal has been under discussion for several years and gained momentum following high-level exchanges, including the visit of Indonesian Defence Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto to New Delhi in January, and a subsequent visit by India’s Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan to Jakarta.

The BrahMos missile, developed jointly by India and Russia, has demonstrated its operational effectiveness and was reportedly used in limited action during the India-Pakistan conflict earlier this year, reinforcing its reputation as one of the world’s fastest precision strike weapons.
